Music | Transforming the Vibrations of Life into Sound

“I turn the tremors and silent prayers
found deep within emotion
into recordings of sound.

Deeper than language,
gentler than memory—

Sound dissolves into the air,
carrying the memory of light.”

Maho’s music is grounded in classical composition,
yet transcends boundaries by integrating painting, poetry, and song — creating a unique world where
light, memory, and emotion converge in gentle healing.

Her sound draws forth the unspoken feelings and“ nameless lights”
that reside deep within the heart, offering them softly—like a quiet presence that listens before it
speaks.

For Maho, music is both a form of healing and a bridge of connection.
Each piece is a fragment of light she discovered in the midst of personal hardship, shaped into sound
and sent out as a prayer to those who carry pain of their own.

About Symbolic Notation

A Method of Composing with Meaning and Light

Maho’s music is not simply a weaving of melodies.
She employs a unique compositional method called
“Symbolic Notation,” in which the letters of a work’s
title are translated into musical notes. From these, entire
melodies and structural frameworks are born.

There is no randomness or improvisation in this process.
Each note is chosen with intention and prayer, carefully
crafted to resonate with her visual art.

This is not merely a code of sound.
It is a quiet dialogue — a patient process of listening to
what the music itself wishes to become, and discovering
the landscapes it longs to evoke.

A World Born from Title of a Painting

Where Visual and Musical Souls Are One

In Maho’s creative process, painting and music are not separate expressions — they are born as one shared soul.

From the title of a painting — a single word — a melody begins to emerge.
That melody then gives shape to structure and scenery, and finally, the painting and the music begin to resonate with
each other, forming a unified world.

Unlike the conventional approach of adding music after a visual work is completed, Maho’s method is rooted in fusion
from the very beginning. Each piece is conceived as an integrated whole — both image and sound.

This layered world — woven with light and tone, memory and landscape — invites the viewer to step beyond the
boundary between sight and sound, and into an experience that is deeply felt.

“What kind of light, or shadow, would belong to this note?”

Such questions guide her hand and ear. With tenderness and inquiry, she shapes works that carry emotions which can
only be delivered through the language of melody.

Creating with Devotion, Beyond Technique

Tone Symbolism (音名象徴) is an extremely delicate and constrained method of musical expression.
To elevate it into a beautiful melody—without changing the note order—
requires harmonic knowledge and a deep musical sensitivity.

But even more important is this:
To love and face each tone with care.

“How can I help these notes sing most beautifully?”
“What kind of light or shadow should I gently place on this one note?”

With these questions,
I engage in a dialogue with each sound.

For me, Tone Symbolism

is not merely a technique.
It is my testimony—
my hope—
my inner flame.

The light I’ve seen,
the prayers I’ve felt,
and the emotions that still linger in my heart—

If you happen to find them
within these melodies,
that would be my greatest joy.
